Requirements

  • Graduate in any discipline from reputed institute/university (preferably B. Pharm or B.Sc. and/or MBA from reputed university)
  • 5–8 years of sales experience, with 3 years of progressive sales management and/or marketing experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to organize and lead teams

Responsibilities

  • Build relationships with key customers, distributors, trade associations, and industry players to facilitate sales and increase positive visibility and adoption of Abbott products
  • Drive execution of strategies and tactics in the field through extensive field travel, programs, and training/coaching of sales teams during national and local meetings
  • Manage profit margins to company objectives; plan budgets, set sales goals, and assist in creating reliable sales forecasts
  • Monitor and implement activities critical to business needs (Customer Coverage, Doctor Meetings, Opinion Leader Contacts, Patient Programs, Cycle Meetings, etc.)
  • Assist Human Resources with manpower planning, personnel selection, development of performance standards, reviews, compensation, employee development, and training
  • Partner with Marketing, Medical, Legal, and Regulatory to develop and execute product strategies
  • Develop, motivate, and challenge team members to achieve performance
  • Conduct performance evaluations and take corrective action when deemed appropriate
  • Assure adherence to Company Sales policies and procedures
  • Administer sales expense and actual performance against budget on a country level
  • Promote adherence to EHS policies, procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate overall sales activities and strategies across the country to increase sales, profits, and market share on a long-term basis
  • Manage distributors and sub-distributors by driving sales strategy and Abbott Core Values
