Position Overview

As a Sales Development Representative (SDR) at Standard Metrics, you will gain invaluable insight into the fast-paced venture capital and private markets. This role offers a dynamic blend of tactical execution and strategic contribution as we aim to expand our market reach, team, and business operations. We are seeking enthusiastic, self-motivated individuals with proven experience in prospecting, executing outbound campaigns, scheduling discovery calls, and collaborating with Account Executives to identify new business opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Pipeline Generation: Build a robust sales pipeline through a variety of outreach methods, including sales and cold outreach techniques, and by leveraging relationship-building opportunities at trade shows, conferences, company-hosted events, and through mutual connections.
  • First Point of Contact: Serve as the initial point of contact for all incoming customer inquiries.
  • CRM Management: Ensure accurate and up-to-date data maintenance within our CRM system.
  • Account Research: Utilize business and industry knowledge to research target accounts, identify key stakeholders, generate interest, identify compelling events, and develop account strategies.
  • Meeting & Demo Scheduling: Schedule meetings and product demonstrations between prospective clients and our Account Executives.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with Account Executives and collaborate with Marketing, Product, and Sales Operations teams to effectively manage the sales process for prospective clients through to the onboarding stage.
  • Proactive Business Development: Actively seek new business opportunities within the market.

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of progressive SaaS software sales development experience.
  • Tool Proficiency: Demonstrated experience using prospecting tools such as Salesforce, Apollo, Salesloft, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Gong, etc.
  • Networking Skills: Strong ability to connect with prospects and foster deep relationships, even outside of direct sales interactions.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent sleuthing, creativity, communication, and writing abilities.
  • Performance: Proven track record of achieving and/or exceeding sales quotas.
  • Industry Knowledge (Plus): Experience with Private Markets firms, Venture Capital, or Private Equity is considered a plus.
