About the Opportunity

Jerry.ai is seeking an exceptional Revenue Accounting Manager to lead its revenue accounting operations during a critical growth phase. Having achieved profitability in early 2024, the company is now focused on scaling from 5 million to 50 million customers and building a $10 billion business.

This is a hands-on role for a late-stage, fast-growing startup with IPO ambitions. You will be instrumental in expanding the financial infrastructure, specifically owning one of the most complex and critical areas: revenue recognition. The position requires strong technical expertise in ASC 606, deep data fluency, and the ability to navigate multiple systems and revenue streams. You will build scalable processes for timely, accurate, and audit-ready reporting, and partner closely with Data, Engineering, and Finance teams to meet public company standards.

How You Will Make an Impact

• Own the end-to-end revenue accounting process, including the recognition of commissions, contingent commissions, and usage fees.
• Apply and interpret ASC 606 across various revenue streams, including variable consideration and usage-based models.
• Ensure timely and accurate month-end close, reconciliations, journal entries, and reporting for all revenue-related accounts.
• Maintain and update revenue recognition policies and accounting memos.
• Partner with cross-functional teams in data and engineering to enhance data quality and streamline revenue reporting from multiple systems.
• Identify and implement process improvements, system enhancements, and automation opportunities to scale revenue accounting operations.
• Collaborate with external auditors, providing support for audit and SOX compliance activities.
• Assist with special projects, including ERP optimization, internal control development, and IPO or public company readiness.

Ideal Profile

• Education & Certification: CPA and a Bachelor's degree in Accounting are required.
• Experience:
  • 5-8 years of experience in revenue accounting.
  • Big 4 background and/or experience at a high-growth tech or fintech company is preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of ASC 606 and revenue recognition for complex contracts.
  • High comfort level with high transaction volumes and data complexity.
• Skills:
  • Strong systems mindset: experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite), revenue tools (off-the-shelf or custom-built systems), and the ability to work across disconnected systems.
  • Tech-forward: experience and desire to utilize AI and the latest technologies to build scalable operations is a plus.
  • "Roll up the sleeves" can-do attitude.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and cross-functional communication skills.
