Requirements

  • Open availability for part-time night shifts from 2 PM to midnight, including weekends

  • Ability to use POS systems efficiently, including scanning merchandise with hand-held scan gun or 10 keypads, weighing products, and looking up unscannable items
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as cart-to-cart transfers, receipt checking, stocking shelves, using reach trucks and pallet jacks
  • Familiarity with FIFO (First In, First Out) inventory rotation
  • Proficiency with computer programs like Microsoft Word, Excel, and proprietary software
  • Ability to work flexibly in various departments (front end, Meat/Frozen, Produce/Dairy, Dry Goods/Culinary Equipment & Supply) based on needs

Responsibilities

  • Provide superior customer service, develop relationships with customers, and promote US FOODS® Cultural Beliefs (Deliver Excellence, Stop Waste, WIN Together, Speak Up, You Matter)
  • Perform cashier duties: scan merchandise, weigh products, process checkout accurately, ensure barcode accuracy, report discrepancies
  • Conduct cart-to-cart transfers at checkout with visual inspection for tampering
  • Act as receipt checker, verifying cart contents against purchases as customers exit
  • Perform store opening and closing functions at the front end
  • Assist customers on the sales floor to find products and inform them of store services
  • Receive inventory shipments, stock shelves neatly, rotate products per FIFO, perform product quality audits, report low stock
  • Label merchandise properly (blaster tagging, catch weight labels, PLU tags for produce)
  • Replenish sales floor daily by down-stocking freight from top stock, ensuring oldest product first
  • Ensure products are easily accessible, visually appealing, and available; manage shrinkage and increase sales
  • Assist with price changes, special events (Vendor Fairs, sales floor resets, inventory), and any department as directed
