Requirements

Candidates should possess a BS, MS, or PhD in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Bioengineering, Chemical Biology, or a related field. At least 2 years of hands-on experience in molecular biology is required, focusing on DNA synthesis, assembly, and automation. Proficiency in Python for data analysis and automation integration is essential, along with experience in liquid handlers and high-throughput workflows. A strong understanding of NGS-based validation and large-scale DNA processing is necessary, while experience with cell-free protein synthesis and enzymatic activity assays is a plus.

Responsibilities

The Research Engineer will develop and automate high-throughput DNA synthesis and assembly workflows, including enzymatic DNA synthesis and various PCR-based methods. They will optimize and scale DNA synthesis pipelines using advanced automation equipment and design validation assays for DNA constructs. The role also involves integrating DNA workflows into the Foundry, collaborating with the Software Team for automation and data analysis, and supporting protein engineering by designing large variant libraries.
