Requirements

High school degree or equivalent preferred, with one to three years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum of one to three years of experience in industrial retail, inside sales, customer service and/or inventory control-related position
Must possess a valid Class A/B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Hazmat and Airbrake endorsements
Minimum one (1) year of class A experience operating a commercial vehicle
Must possess a clean and safe driving record, with no at-fault accidents or serious moving violations within the past three (3) years
Based on FMCSA regulations, must be able to speak and read English well enough to perform the job safely and effectively

Responsibilities

Adhere to company policies including safety and the use of personal protective equipment
Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers
Ensure all required branch paperwork is accurately completed, including coding, costing, and pricing
Advise customers on tools, hardware, and materials needed, and procedures to follow to complete tasks
Perform order entry, process cash and charge orders; assist with reconciliation of cash and bank deposits
Communicate by phone, e-mail and in person with customers, sales staff, store managers and others regarding cost, ordering, and delivery times
Obtain or transfer merchandise requested by customers to and from other locations
Answer customer questions concerning location, price, and use of merchandise
Total price and tax on merchandise using a computer, calculator and/or paper and pencil to prepare an invoice; accept payment and make change
Maintain neat, clean and professional personal appearance
Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating professionally with customers, vendors, co-workers, and management
Stock shelves, warehouse, counters, and tables with merchandise, and maintain showroom displays
At times, load and unload service trucks with gas cylinders, containers, and supplies for scheduled route deliveries as directed by dispatcher
Make deliveries in a timely manner to ensure customer satisfaction
Ensure all documents required to move and deliver the load are available and accurate
Inspect vehicle for defects and safe operating conditions before each delivery (pre-trip) and submit necessary documentation; perform post-trip inspection at the end of each shift
Perform all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures and comply with all federal, state, local, and DOT regulations
Perform any reasonable work request that falls within qualifications but not specifically described
