Responsibilities

  • Supports FMCNA's mission, vision, core values, and customer service philosophy
  • Assists with implementing FVC quality goals and facility action plans
  • Addresses adverse events and action thresholds in collaboration with facility management
  • Maintains integrity of medical records and facility environmental safety
  • Obtains medical history, performs nursing assessments, discusses procedures, and answers patient questions
  • Provides patient and family education on post-procedure vascular access care
  • Monitors patient condition pre, during, and post-procedure, especially for moderate sedation and contrast media reactions
  • Acts as patient resource, identifies/communicates issues to management
  • Completes accurate documentation from admission to discharge
  • Confirms written orders, consents, lab work; prepares/delivers lab requisitions and reports results
  • Administers medications, IV moderate sedation, and performs IV insertions per physician orders
  • Assists physician during procedures as scrub technologist
  • Transports patients and manages workflow as needed
  • Performs point-of-care lab testing per orders
  • Performs additional physician-designated tasks per state regulations
  • Provides regular communication with physicians and participates in CQI meetings
  • Assists with verifying instruments/equipment and reporting adverse events
  • Inspects equipment operation, reports malfunctions and maintenance needs
