Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Previous customer service experience preferred
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills required
  • Strong customer service orientation skills and ability to multi-task while being a team player
  • Excellent typing skills and ability to work with a computer
  • Flexibility and openness to floating to different locations
  • Reliable transportation to get to the area assigned
  • Ability to perform sedentary work: exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, repetitive movements of hands, fingers, and arms for typing/writing, sitting most of the time with brief walking/standing

Responsibilities

  • Answer incoming calls and provide assistance or direct them to the appropriate staff member
  • Schedule first-time appointments for outpatient and psychiatric services, managing the appointment system to ensure efficient and accurate scheduling
  • Assess customer needs, including crisis situations, handling calls accordingly
  • Perform clerical tasks such as sending appointment letters/reminders, filing, generating reports, and maintaining activity logs
  • Verify client insurance eligibility and referral sources using various websites and software systems
  • Adhere to HIPAA guidelines to ensure customer privacy and confidentiality at all times
  • Take on additional duties as assigned by the supervisor
