Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license and qualifications to serve as Charge Nurse in dialysis
  • Competency in nursing support, patient care coordination, and emergency procedures including CPR, medication administration, and IV conscious sedation
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements, Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) tools, OSHA, and company, state, and federal compliance
  • Ability to maintain medical records, handle data collection, auditing, and documentation
  • Skills in staff training, equipment operation and inspection (e.g., patient monitors, defibrillators), and facility maintenance
  • Strong communication skills for interactions with patients, families, physicians, and staff
  • Capability to manage staffing, supply management, cost containment, patient billing, and facility operations

Responsibilities

  • Support and drive quality standards through regulatory compliance, CQI practices, implementing quality goals and action plans, addressing adverse events, and ensuring policy adherence
  • Coordinate all aspects of patient care from admission to discharge, including assessments, education on post-procedure care, scheduling, workflow assistance, direct patient care, and documentation
  • Educate patients and families, act as a resource for staff on patient concerns, confirm orders/consents/lab work, and communicate patient issues to Facility Manager
  • Assume primary responsibility in emergencies, administer medications/IV sedation per physician orders, and maintain emergency procedure competency
  • Ensure regular communication with physicians, attend Governing Body and CQI meetings, assist with agendas/data, and ensure availability of instruments/equipment
  • Oversee facility equipment/technology operation and regular inspections, report malfunctions, and maintain environmental integrity including safety and operating systems
  • Assist with staffing, staff training, supply management, cost containment, medical records, patient billing, and all compliance initiatives
