Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Physics, Applied Physics, EE or related fields
  • Research experience in one or more of the following areas: atomic physics, atomic clocks, chip-scale atomic/photonic devices, quantum optics, nonlinear optics, cavity optomechanics, semiconductor device physics, device design, and RF engineering
  • Experience developing innovative solutions based upon the application of relevant research results from a wide variety of sources
  • Experience with multi-physics simulation (both device and optical system), computer-aided design, layout, and testing
  • A proven track record of problem solving in more than one of the following: free space optics, integrated photonics, fiber optics, microwave systems engineering, custom electronics design, vacuum equipment and hardware, cryogenic equipment
  • A record of publications in top-tier, peer-reviewed journals
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written), active participation in R&D team activities
  • Ability to work safely in a laboratory environment
  • Willing to travel occasionally
  • US Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Security Clearance
