Candidates must be U.S. citizens eligible for a security clearance, with a background in research or evaluation relevant to quantum computing. Experience with DARPA programs and familiarity with quantum computing architectures, devices, algorithms, and applications are highly desirable. The ability to travel domestically and internationally is also required.
The Quantum Benchmarking Initiative Systems Engineer will support the AFRL team by reviewing, validating, and documenting approaches for fault-tolerant quantum computing. Responsibilities include evaluating performer technologies, assessing timelines and performance metrics, verifying system operation, and documenting findings. This involves digesting complex technical details, performing independent evaluations, and generating standardized government artifacts summarizing assessments of performer material.
