Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED
  • 2 years of experience in working with ISO 9001 Quality Management System including calibration system and corrective action system
  • 2 years of experience in ensuring development and manufacturing processes to meet safety standards and regulations in hazardous locations (i.e. UL/CSA/IEC 60079, ISO 9001, ATEX standards, IECEx standards)
  • 1 year of experience in auditing systems based on IQS standards
  • Multi-country liaison experience
  • Proven experience working with direct sales and field service to meet customer expectations within MFG Durable goods
  • Demonstrated understanding of quality engineering principles and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g. 5-whys; Cause/effect diagrams, etc.)
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications including Excel and Word

Responsibilities

  • Focus on customer satisfaction through continuous improvement
  • Understand, implement, and maintain the Quality Policy of VEGA Americas
  • Identify and implement corrections to problems and opportunities for improvement, both individually and through teams
  • Follow procedures and work instructions in compliance with ISO 9001
  • Assure that the product meets drawings and customer requirements
  • Identify and prevent further processing of non-conforming parts or processes
  • Respond to the immediate needs of production or the customer by troubleshooting and assisting with problem solving and quality concern resolution (5-whys; Cause/effect diagrams; etc.)
  • Document problem resolutions and corrective actions
  • Work with Sales, Field Service, and representatives to understand, define, and communicate customer expectations, including customer satisfaction measures
  • Monitor and help control scrap, including pareto and corrective action analysis
  • Provide for disposition of nonconforming material in a timely, economical manner and assure the proper preventive action is taken
  • Develop, revise, and maintain process documentation to support quality improvement
  • Measure and analyze key quality performance data; make recommendations on specific opportunities to improve quality
  • Work with VEGA Germany and VEGA Americas Engineering to ensure compliance for regulatory and approval certification
  • Be primary liaison to VEGA Germany regarding quality systems and product questions
  • Communicate to suppliers to identify and correct quality problems in cooperation with Purchasing
  • Support vendor quality objectives
  • Maintain appropriate supplier and component history and records
  • Facilitate resolution and communication of customer problems identified through LifeLines (Corrective Action system)
  • Up to 10% international travel
