Responsibilities
- Purchase direct materials
- Obtain quotes, select suppliers, and make final recommendations
- Generate savings to meet targets
- Generate purchase orders
- Provide general sales support
- Lead the group in all its responsibilities and support other groups/areas
- Lead negotiations with suppliers
- Lead the search for savings opportunities and projects (materials analysis, supply chain analysis, analysis of economic factors in the industry)
- Achieve savings goals for all assigned desks
- Improve commercial terms (payment terms, payment upon receipt, monthly payment, Incoterms, transfer titles, localization within the region)
- Conduct timely supplier selection process
- Coordinate/support business transfers between Aptiv plants
- Prevent supplier delivery interruptions
- Manage supplier location changes
- Update multiple reports and presentations (supplier, category, etc.)
- Comply with purchasing policies and procedures, and in interactions with other departments
- Supervise assigned staff group
- Lead initiatives for assigned categories
