  • Any technical repair background, mechanical repair on rotating equipment a plus
  • Previous pump and/or positive displacement blower experience preferred
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Welding experience preferred
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently with direction
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once

Responsibilities

  • Disassembly, inspection, and repair of all makes and models of centrifugal pumps, positive displacement pumps, positive displacement blowers, vacuum pumps, and other pumping machines
  • Picking up and delivering equipment in the Charlotte and surrounding area to the shop in Matthews, NC
  • Thorough inspection of all components, taking measurements with calipers/micrometers, measuring clearances
  • Cleaning up parts and surfaces before measurements
  • Writing inspection reports provided to customers
  • Creating lists of parts required for repair
  • Occasional field service including on-site inspection or repair
  • Assisting in fabrication of pump packages, including fabricating bases from scratch with welding, creating layouts based on pump/motor footprint, drilling and tapping mounting and lifting holes, basic pump/motor alignment
  • Commissioning, calibrating, troubleshooting, and repairing pump and blower equipment on-site for industrial, commercial, pharmaceutical, and municipal customers
  • Troubleshooting, repairing, adjusting settings, and performing start-up operations for pumps, blowers, pressure sensors, transmitters, controllers, and valves
  • Visually inspecting, testing, and recommending changes to ensure installations meet manufacturers’ standards
  • Observing processes, applying and developing tests and procedures to detect proper or malfunctioning operation, preparing reports, discussing findings with customers or sales representatives, making adjustments or recommending actions
  • Dismantling defective pumps, blowers, and equipment and replacing with new or repaired parts per manufacturers’ procedures
  • Assembling, repairing, and/or replacing related pumps and blowers
  • Directing installers on proper equipment placement according to drawings and manufacturers’ recommendations
