Requirements

  • HNC in Business Management, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Ability to demonstrate and/or show willingness to develop themselves as appropriate to the job role
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
  • Highly computer literate with the ability to maintain accurate records
  • Good organisational skills and smart working methods; ability to prioritise own workload and that of tender team where appropriate
  • Knowledge of estimating principles, techniques, practices and different types of cost estimates
  • Some years of working experience in a commercial environment
  • Right to work in the UK with a passport/work permit and not requiring future sponsorship

Responsibilities

  • Effectively identifying and assessing the requirements of incoming enquiries within the remit of the role and ensuring appropriate action and feedback is given
  • Collating and evaluating the resource, material, third-party content, engineering, and production cost of tenders, ensuring appropriate approval and sign off has been obtained
  • Coordinating multiple business functions in both the UK and overseas to ensure deadlines are met, whilst ensuring an accurate, coherent proposal is submitted to the customer
  • Participating with Sales in discussions with the client
  • Minimising Company’s exposure to liabilities
  • Actively contributing towards continuous business and process improvement
  • Managing operational aspects of a technical and commercial tender, preparing documentation for handover to the projects team
  • Assisting other members of the department with their workload during periods of holiday, sickness or heavy overload
  • Handling standardized products with pre-defined options requiring simple client advice
