Responsibilities

Manage existing renewal portfolio and secure new business accounts, including regular market visits to ensure good submission flow
Achieve budgeted top line production and bottom line results, ensuring target growth, profitability, and account retention through sound daily underwriting decisions
Educate local business community on property products via presentations and seminars for clients
Maintain awareness of legal and regulatory environment to ensure underwriting compliance; complete all mandatory AIG training courses and stay updated on regulatory developments
Report on budget metrics and prepare forecasts for future periods; keep accurate track of production and performance parameters
Stay up-to-date on market changes and trends; develop strong personal and professional relationships with clients and brokers through regular market/producer meetings and attending industry events/seminars
Conduct portfolio analysis
Contribute to the development of expertise and knowledge of team members, especially new and junior underwriters from different regions
Participate actively in maintaining good team spirit and motivated staff
Handle facultative reinsurance placement as applicable and when needed
Liaise with Accounting and Claims departments by providing required information and participating in relevant meetings
Take active part in presentations, seminars, and internal technical trainings
Conduct regular engineering surveys with risk engineers, focusing on large/complex and medium/high hazard risks
