Requirements

  • Preferable 12+ years’ experience in a construction/engineering environment on substations and renewable energy projects
  • Experience constructing outdoor air insulated substations and substations at 220kV or above
  • Possess an advanced, detailed knowledge of engineering and construction principles
  • Understand all aspects of contractual terms and conditions
  • Able to take financial responsibility and accountability for the profitability of the project
  • Experience managing construction budgets to allow accurate profit/loss forecasting
  • Professional and ethical image to the client, subcontractors, relevant regulatory authorities, consultants, and project team
  • Ensure the effective coordination and control of Engineering Works for the ACEREZ D&C project through activities of technical, engineering, and construction teams

Responsibilities

  • Total control of all aspects of the project and ensure the construction meets time frames and budgets
  • Accountable for the construction component of the project, and team motivation
  • In conjunction with the project Commercial Manager and Project Engineers, identify key areas of variance from the estimate/cost plan and manage/approve subcontractor time extensions
  • Develop overall planning strategy by reviewing program document and incorporating major milestones in the delivery process
  • Fully understand the details of the design brief and associated cost plan
  • Review and analyse aspects of constructability/buildability with respect to design development
  • Operate within project governance frameworks
  • Manage issues, risks, and opportunities effectively
  • Ensure that legislative and authority critical issues are communicated quickly and efficiently to senior management
