Candidates must possess a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine or equivalent degree, a current and active veterinary license in good standing, and a valid US driver's license. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a veterinarian in companion animal general clinical practice is required, along with a demonstrated curiosity, positivity, and growth mindset. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential, as is the willingness and ability to travel for work, with travel expected to be 60-80%. Candidates should live in or be willing to relocate to a central part of the designated area, such as Grand Rapids/Lansing or greater North West Detroit.
The Professional Services Veterinarian will lead the adoption of higher standards of care, compassion, and health within the veterinary profession by educating and influencing through lectures and roundtable discussions on small animal diseases, Zoetis products/services, medical advancements, and practice management. This role involves acting as the "voice of the veterinarian" to advise on strategies and educate internal sales and marketing teams. The veterinarian will also serve as a coach, trainer, and leader, adapting communication style to the needs of the sales team, colleagues, and peers. Responsibilities include partnering with the Area Business Manager to develop and achieve business strategy and objectives, becoming a valued advisor to veterinary customers, sales teams, peers, and colleagues, and helping to protect and grow the veterinary industry, Zoetis business, and brand. A commitment to personal and professional growth to enhance relevance, impact, and engagement is also expected.
