Requirements

  • High-school degree or equivalent
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, GMP's, and general instructions; good communication skills
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out oral and written instructions
  • Timely and regular attendance; ability to report to work on time and work the entire scheduled shift
  • Ability to handle and manage stress in a high-volume, fast-paced, complex, and busy environment
  • Proven ability to manage multiple competing priorities; strong problem-solving skills with a "can-do" mindset
  • Flexibility to work additional hours, overtime, rotating 8-hour shifts, and unplanned hours as needed
  • Team player attitude; ability to interact positively, professionally, and cooperatively with others
  • Ability to work alone/unsupervised (make decisions, correct problems, complete tasks)
  • Good utilization of time and initiative
  • Knowledge and experience in use of tools
  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly to changes
  • Basic knowledge of diagrams and schematics; ability to follow and read them
  • Basic computer skills
  • Regularly stand and walk (minimum 70% of the time); lift/push/pull/carry up to 50 pounds (frequently 30-35 pounds)
  • Ability to squat, kneel, and bend frequently
  • Ability to work in a cold (40-50 degree) environment
  • Ability to tolerate exposure to flour and yeast materials
  • Ability to climb steps and vertical ladders up to 10ft high frequently
  • Ability to work with automatic equipment, pressurized air hoses, high pressure hoses, and strahman water hoses (hot-steam)

Responsibilities

  • Follow all company Safety Rules and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's)
  • Produce high quality products in a safe and healthful manner with minimal yield loss
  • Maintain assigned shift attendance
  • Make dye
  • Make coating
  • Add hand-adds to dry mixes
  • Run and monitor system on a continuous basis
  • Perform weekly start-ups, shut-downs, and clean-ups
  • Perform minor maintenance of department equipment
  • Keep production and preparation areas clean (sanitation is constant and critical)
  • Operate forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck
  • Perform manual tasks required to keep system running
  • Work as part of a team
  • Assist fellow employees as needed
