Requirements

  • Execute the production plan as established by the Shift Manager
  • Supervise an assigned team of hourly production leads, production associates, machine leads, and machine operators throughout the shift
  • Manage performance of team members, including participating in hiring, coaching discussions, delivering feedback, and conducting performance reviews
  • Oversee multiple activities simultaneously and take ownership of the output of leads and associates
  • Exhibit strong working knowledge of all machinery, equipment, and processes, including performing basic troubleshooting
  • Manage and troubleshoot technological tools used in production (e.g., production tracker, scanners, date coder)
  • Work closely with other functions within the facility to execute plant-wide initiatives
  • Arrive prior to the start of production (2nd shift: 3:00pm - 1:00am, days off Tuesday & Wednesday)
  • Demonstrate leadership during adoption of new processes and identify opportunities for efficiency and quality improvements

Responsibilities

  • Receive the day’s production plan from the Shift Manager and coordinate with production leads to set up tables/lines prior to production associates' arrival
  • Receive production targets from Shift Manager, delegate tasks to production leads, and ensure proper staffing for all tasks
  • Work with warehouse team to ensure required product is dropped to the production floor in correct quantities
  • Set up each activity according to standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Coach production leads on set up processes to ensure SOP compliance
  • Ensure workstations are set up for production activities (labeling, portioning, meal bagging) to meet targets
  • Share recommendations for improvements to safety, equipment, and/or SOPs with Continuous Improvement Manager
  • Inspect working areas, hold team accountable for clean, safe work environment and safe operations
  • Ensure tables/lines operate according to Home Chef SOPs during portioning and meal bagging
  • Ensure leads properly utilize production sheets and come prepared to shift
