Requirements

  • Ability to work 12-hour night shifts (6:00 pm to 6:00 am) with rotating schedule (every other weekend off)
  • Compliance with FDA, OSHA, and Abbott policies and procedures
  • Training to work in other areas as needed
  • Ability to operate specialized equipment such as floor scrubbers, scissor lifts, vacuums, and other cleaning tools

Responsibilities

  • Ensure assigned areas are properly cleaned using approved cleaning and sanitizing processes
  • Clean and sanitize processing and production equipment and areas of the plant according to job standards
  • Clean and sanitize food processing equipment and food processing facilities
  • Operate specialized equipment such as floor scrubbers and scissor lifts to perform job functions
  • Prevent cross contamination of product, work-in-progress, food contact surfaces, and food contact packaging during sanitation procedures
  • Follow all company Sanitation SOPs for cleaning equipment and facility
  • Perform pre-inspection of clean equipment before requesting supervisor approval
  • Remove trash/garbage from the facility; mop as needed, clean floor drains, and any exterior areas requiring attention
  • Complete all required sanitation and work order documentation
  • Wash and maintain cleaning carts and tools
  • Maintain all sanitation related equipment including automatic floor scrubbers, vacuums, and cleaning tools
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the sanitation supervisor
  • Keep cleaning supplies stocked, on-hand, and organized
