Requirements

  • Willingness to work on-site in midtown Manhattan office 3 days every week
  • 7+ years of direct experience in digital advertising and marketing (interest-based advertising preferred), with deep understanding of data flows, media operations, and AdTech platforms
  • Understanding of the digital media/ad tech ecosystem, including advertising transactions such as contextual and data-driven, programmatic, and advertising-supported custom content
  • Understanding of deals and data flows with DSPs, SSPs, Exchanges, Networks, and other 3rd party platforms
  • Understanding of data collection methods and data flows from collection through enhanced data mapping for interest-based advertising segmentation
  • Understanding of the identity landscape, the use of aggregated and anonymized user information, and the use of data clean rooms & DMPs to support client activations
  • Understanding of relevant privacy laws in the U.S., EU, and other critical global jurisdictions
  • Understanding of the importance of alignment between ad operations, data governance, and legal/privacy
  • Experience working with internal stakeholders and external stakeholders (i.e., clients and industry groups), navigating US and International Data Privacy Regulations, and understanding of DPAs (Data Processing Agreements)
  • Experience in diagramming data flows and a proven record in developing and implementing frameworks
  • Basic familiarity with scripting in Python, HTML, CSS, Javascript, API/request
  • Clear understanding of privacy-enhancing technology, such as Sourcepoint, One Trust, and scanning tools
  • Ability to communicate clearly and work in a cross-functional environment, and work independently with minimal supervision

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with ad ops, ad tech, legal, privacy compliance, and governance teams to define data flow, standards, and data hygiene practices
  • Provide privacy guidance to advertising stakeholders, clients, and 3rd party vendors to ensure compliance with relevant privacy laws, and Dow Jones’ policies and ad tech governance
  • Partner with multi-media sales (MMS) leadership during vendor negotiations to ensure data flows are documented and understood to support legal review and contract negotiations
  • Provide continued technical support and project management during all vendor and data onboarding by guiding digital partners to ensure privacy compliance
  • Complete vendor documentation to support consent management platform and ongoing requirements; ensure that documentation remains up to date and sound in the light of evolving privacy regulations
  • Serve as a client-facing point of contact for complex data centric questions, especially in data-sophisticated deal constructs
  • Manage data collaboration and data clean room relationships, ensuring clients' and vendor paperwork and data flows are properly executed and documented
  • Serve as the Privacy SME in developing training materials and documentation of necessary process adherence
