Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in Business Administration, Commerce, Economics or a related field or combination of education / experience
  • Demonstrated related work experience
  • Experience working in the construction industry; knowledge of appropriate local suppliers and subcontractor services a strong asset
  • Strong relationship building skills
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

Responsibilities

  • Identify suppliers of goods and services
  • Tender in company software for general and specialized equipment, materials, or business service for use or for further processing by the business
  • Assess the requirements of the business and develop specifications for equipment, materials, and supplies to be tendered
  • Review logistics of delivery schedules
  • Conduct weekly procurement meetings with the project estimating teams to ensure the meeting of procurement commitments (RFP issuance, addendums, clarifications, bid received deadlines, etc.)
  • Ensure compliance with Supply Chain vendor accreditation process
  • Advise project team of critical information, such as specification changes, delivery status, future price changes, etc
  • Negotiate with current and potential suppliers in an effort to obtain reduced price and favorable terms
  • Other duties as required
