Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in welding, particularly in aerospace or turbine engine components
  • Strong knowledge of welding processes, materials, and metallurgy
  • Experience with GTAW, MIG, TIG, and robotic welding
  • Familiarity with FAA regulations and industry standards (e.g., AS9100, AWS, API)
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Proficiency in MS Office and CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Autodesk)
  • Strong understanding of quality control and assurance principles
  • Experience with process improvement and implementation
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate engine components and weld processes to ensure efficient operation
  • Solve weld process problems to improve processes economically
  • Review and evaluate new weld repairs and processes
  • Provide technical support to sales teams
  • Develop new repairs and processes for customers, engine manufacturers, or FAA/DER
  • Ensure process quality requirements are met and written procedures are established
  • Collaborate with CRT personnel to maintain a company safety program
  • Procure materials, equipment, and supplies as necessary
  • Communicate with team members and stakeholders regarding repair processes and facility improvements
  • Provide training and lead meetings to qualify and certify employees
  • Assist in resolving technical problems and discrepancies
  • Design and implement new or modified processes for production
