Requirements

6+ years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 1+ year leading projects or small teams
Proficiency in one or more programming languages (Go, Python, TypeScript, Java)
Strong experience with modern cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or similar)
Solid understanding of database design and performance optimization (Postgres, DynamoDB, BigQuery)

Responsibilities

Lead a small team of engineers through design, development, and delivery of end-to-end solutions. Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and code reviews to ensure high standards of quality and scalability
Design, build, and maintain backend services (Go, Python, or Java) and frontend applications (TypeScript)
Design systems for scale, performance, and reliability—optimizing our PostgreSQL, BigQuery, and Elasticsearch databases
Partner directly with merchants to understand needs, resolve issues, and propose scalable, customer-focused solutions
Drive initiatives around fraud detection, card tokenization, and compliance with card network and data privacy standards
Build and evolve REST APIs and webhooks that power integrations with commerce platforms like Magento 2, BigCommerce, and Salesforce Commerce Cloud
Ensure robust monitoring, logging, and alerting through Datadog and related tools; lead incident response and on-call rotations
Identify and automate inefficiencies, contribute to CI/CD pipelines, and champion best practices across the engineering org
