Requirements

  • 6+ years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 1+ year leading projects or small teams
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages (Go, Python, TypeScript, Java)
  • Strong experience with modern cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or similar)
  • Solid understanding of database design and performance optimization (Postgres, DynamoDB, BigQuery)
  • Experience with testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, Mocha, Ginkgo)

Responsibilities

  • Lead a small team of engineers through design, development, and delivery of end-to-end solutions
  • Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and code reviews to ensure high standards of quality and scalability
  • Design, build, and maintain backend services (Go, Python, or Java) and frontend applications (TypeScript)
  • Design systems for scale, performance, and reliability—optimizing our PostgreSQL, BigQuery, and Elasticsearch databases
  • Partner directly with merchants to understand needs, resolve issues, and propose scalable, customer-focused solutions
  • Drive initiatives around fraud detection, card tokenization, and compliance with card network and data privacy standards
  • Build and evolve REST APIs and webhooks that power integrations with commerce platforms like Magento 2, BigCommerce, and Salesforce Commerce Cloud
  • Ensure robust monitoring, logging, and alerting through Datadog and related tools; lead incident response and on-call rotations
  • Identify and automate inefficiencies, contribute to CI/CD pipelines, and champion best practices across the engineering org
