Requirements

  • Extensive hands-on experience in analytics or data science, with at least 8+ years in a data-intensive role, preferably in e-commerce or consumer tech
  • Degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Science, or equivalent experience
  • Proficiency in SQL, working with large, complex datasets
  • Competency in Python (or R) for data cleaning, manipulation, and analysis
  • In-depth understanding of A/B testing, including test design, execution, and analysis
  • Strong communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to explain processes, choices, trade-offs, and insights to stakeholders across all levels of seniority and technical backgrounds
  • A proactive, curious, and collaborative mindset, with the ability to thrive in ambiguous, fast-paced environments

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to sourcing and reconcile data from across the company to produce high-valuable data products for your and your stakeholders enablement
  • Analyze large, complex datasets to identify product opportunities, distilling findings into clear, relevant, and impactful insights
  • Be a data explorer, educator, and partner in decision-making, challenging and contributing to product decisions based on your analyses
  • Advise in the design of A/B tests or other quasi-experiments, analysing and deep-diving into the results to provide recommendations and identify further opportunities
  • Define key metrics to measure product performance and customer behavior
  • Design and develop scalable solutions for monitoring and reporting, ensuring they provide strategic clarity
  • Define data requirements and support implementation for product launches and iteration
  • Mentor analysts, foster collaboration with other teams, and actively share knowledge and expertise within Zalando’s analytics and science community
  • Serve as an interface between data stakeholders across the organization to ensure alignment, communication, and understanding of data products and analyses
