Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in IP Routing Protocols: MPLS, Segment-routing, BGP, OSPF, ISIS, RSVP, Multicast, VLAN, L2/L3 VPNs, EVPN, SNMP, Telemetry
  • 3+ years of experience in Networking Technologies: TCP/UDP, VxLAN, NAT, DNS, QoS, BGP FlowSpec, Network Security, Netflow, and more
  • 3+ years of experience in Virtualization: VNFs, KVM, VMware, OpenStack, Docker, Kubernetes
  • 3+ years of experience with Multivendor Platforms: Cisco (IOS, IOS-XR, CRS, ASR 9K), Juniper (MX, SRX), Arista 7K, UFI, DriveNets NOS
  • 3+ years of experience in DevOps: supporting the lifecycle, design, and planning for technology innovation and network operations
  • 3+ years of experience in Network Design: LAN/WAN, cloud networks, telecom and security architectures, SDN design
  • Excellent network troubleshooting skills
  • Data analysis skills
  • Deep understanding of IP, MPLS, SR and Traffic Engineering (TE) technologies
  • Ability to apply statistical and analytical skills to dissect complex Service Provider issues
  • Secondary skills in Scripting/automation: Python, Shell, C, Java
  • Secondary skills with Test equipment: IXIA, Spirent, and similar tools
  • Secondary skills with DevOps tools: Ansible, Jenkins, Git, Jira
  • Certifications: Platform and cloud vendor certifications are a plus
  • Office presence of a minimum of 5 days per week in the posted location(s); no relocation offered

  • Drive the research, development, and implementation of innovative technologies in support of AT&T's mission to connect people and businesses worldwide
  • Contribute to the advancement of next-generation technologies and platforms, primarily impacting internal AT&T initiatives
  • Analyze, design, and implement solutions for projects of high complexity, requiring in-depth evaluation of intangible factors
  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and act as a subject matter expert within the organization
  • Drive efficiency improvements, cost savings, and innovation across the network
  • Lead or contribute to resolving major issues in both legacy and evolving architectures (including virtual network functions and white box technologies)
  • Innovate with legacy and emerging architectures, including virtualized and white box environments
  • Tackle highly complex projects and solve critical business challenges with significant impact on company programs and customer service quality
