Requirements

  • Extensive experience with modeling and planning the bulk electric power system

  • Experience with integrating and enabling new technologies (PV, EV, battery storage)

Responsibilities

  • Lead, perform reliability and/or strategic scenario-based planning driven studies of existing and forecast system conditions
  • Conduct assessments including voltage, thermal, PV, transfer limit, short circuit, electromagnetic transient and stability
  • Contribute sound engineering input to develop robust, reliable, low-cost solutions
  • Review data and assumptions from regional and industry stakeholders
  • Interface with ISO-New England, area transmission owners, and Eversource departments (UG/OH engineering, Substation Technical, DER, Operations, etc.)
  • Document and communicate results and recommendations (data manipulation, report writing, presentations)
  • Collaborate with cross-functional groups to develop long-range planning criteria for integrating new technologies
  • Represent Eversource on regional, national, and international committees and working groups (NATF, IEEE, state public utility commissions)
  • Demonstrate self-sufficiency, accountability, and cooperation
  • Mentor and provide technical training to other engineers
  • Perform emergent storm assignments as needed
  • Active participation in regional, national, and international committees and working groups
