Requirements

  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in Advanced Manufacturing, Automation, and Digitization
  • Proven leadership in managing and developing high-performing engineering teams with a focus on automation technologies
  • Expertise in automation systems, robotics, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and IoT as they relate to manufacturing processes
  • Proficiency in GSD and background in factory capacity planning & management
  • Strong technical foundation with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree or certifications in engineering or technology management preferred
  • Experience in manufacturing process design and optimization, with demonstrated ability to innovate and improve complex systems
  • Track record of successfully implementing large-scale automation and digitization projects within a manufacturing environment
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and influence skills, with ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural and multi-layered global organization
  • Proficiency in relevant engineering software and data analysis tools
  • Work from Nike Mexico Office (not remote)
  • Ability to travel 50% of time within factories in North and Central America

Responsibilities

  • Lead key Manufacturing Modernization and Digitization initiatives at Nike, together with Americas Apparel factory partners
  • Develop strategic plans for the integration of advanced technologies that enhance manufacturing efficiency, product quality, and speed to market
  • Oversee the research and evaluation of new automation and digitization technologies to identify opportunities for process improvement and innovation supporting Nike’s enterprise strategy and business goals
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Partner Management, Product Creation, and Manufacturing Systems Engineering, to align advanced capabilities with Nike’s product and process requirements
  • Drive the implementation of Advanced and Intelligent Industry initiatives, including smart factory concepts, IoT, and AI to create a connected and intelligent manufacturing ecosystem
  • Facilitate the development of technical standards and best practices for automation and digitization projects
  • Mentor and develop the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement
  • Track and refresh key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of automation and digitization initiatives and their impact on manufacturing outcomes
  • Engage with external technology partners and internal stakeholders to drive innovation and stay abreast of emerging trends in advanced manufacturing
