Requirements

The candidate must be able to maintain eligibility for access to Specially Designated Secrets. A Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of experience supporting the Japanese Ministry of Defense community is required. The role necessitates international travel up to 50%, primarily within the APJ region, and also to Europe and the United States. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential, along with professional working proficiency in English. Experience working with GIS and Remote Sensing users within the Japan Ministry of Defense, as well as experience in IMINT, ISR, and related fields, is necessary. Familiarity with QGIS and SocetGXP is also required.

Responsibilities

The Pre-Sales Solutions Architect will build and deliver presentations and product demonstrations to showcase Planet's platform capabilities and solutions. They will establish trusted advisor relationships with customers' technical and management staff, recommending appropriate solutions architecture. This role involves assisting with responses to tenders, RFIs, and RFPs, and collaborating with sales teams on account development plans and customer engagement strategies. The architect will also work with internal cross-functional teams to represent the voice of the customer, assist with RFP/RFI preparation, and achieve sales and operational objectives. They will represent Planet's Defense and Intelligence needs to sales leadership, communicating forecasts, pipeline opportunities, and customer feedback. The position requires presenting to key executive Government stakeholders in the APJ Region and mentoring team members through training and development.
