Responsibilities

  • Provide onsite leadership and oversight of the veterinary health care team to maximize overall business performance
  • Lead continuous improvement of customer service and medical care quality
  • Ensure smooth communication throughout client visits and work with Medical Director to resolve client concerns
  • Oversee client communications (welcome letters, sympathy cards, newsletters) per hospital protocols and timelines
  • Implement team scripting, in-hospital marketing, and social media content to attract new clients, retain current ones, increase referrals, and build community goodwill
  • Meet client needs for timely care; track new clients/patients, visit frequency, and achieve goals for appointment and surgery fill rates
  • Ensure team has sufficient resources for exceptional patient care; manage financial drivers and keep Cost of Sales in line with budget
  • Maintain reasonable inventory levels and plans to eliminate bulk ordering and expired goods
  • Work with Regional Manager and Medical Director to review operating budget and hospital business plan
  • Prioritize equipment and facility needs; assist with sourcing and purchasing
  • Prepare financial, bookkeeping, and accounting reports; maintain and balance accounts using manual and computerized systems
  • Follow monthly schedule authorization, predict staffing needs, and verify financial support for new hires
  • Act as positive role model, foster open relationships, and collaborate on team success
  • Recruit, mentor, and retain team emphasizing accountability, morale, teamwork, and high standards
  • Monitor Key Performance Indicators for hospital and team; implement action plans as needed
  • Meet Regional Manager expectations and timelines for hospital initiatives; hold team accountable for responsibilities and deliverables
  • Review feedback from data management with Regional Manager
