Candidates should have good hands-on knowledge of PostgreSQL and its provided tools, along with skills in performance tuning, query optimization, and index tuning. Familiarity with backup solutions like pg base backup, pgBackRest, and WAL-G is essential, as well as experience with high availability solutions and monitoring requirements. Demonstrable experience in administering Linux-based systems is required, along with the ability to troubleshoot methodically and think outside the box. Self-motivation to grow skills with new technologies is important, and candidates should have experience working with customers in English. Knowledge of Kubernetes is desirable.
The PostgreSQL Database Support Engineer will assist customers' DBA teams by gathering relevant data and investigating issues to provide detailed analyses of findings. They will conduct screen-sharing sessions for serious issues, author blog posts for the open-source community, answer forum questions, create articles for the knowledge base, and host webinars. The role requires availability for occasional travel for team meetings, conferences, or customer visits.
