Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience, with prior manufacturing plant accounting experience desired, ideally as lead accountant at a plant
  • Degree in Finance or Accounting; CIMA or equivalent an advantage
  • Specific knowledge of plant accounting, forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, inventory control, business case, cost benefit analysis, and capital planning analysis
  • Strong analytical skills for problem solving; a change agent able to improve upon existing processes
  • Experience with ERP Systems a must (specific technical knowledge of JD Edwards an advantage); MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word essential
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Able to work independently
  • Use of common sense, pragmatic thinking, and necessary analytical skills for problem solving and data interpretation
  • Self-starter with a solid accounting base, able to identify and complete work in a highly dynamic and independent environment

Responsibilities

  • Direct and have immediate responsibility for Plant accounting practices, maintenance of fiscal records, and preparation of financial reports
  • Direct and have accountability for general accounting, internal auditing, cost accounting, and budget controls for Livingston manufacturing operations and supporting warehouses
  • Appraise operating results in terms of costs, budgets, and trends
  • Monthly closing including work order close, manufacturing variance review, and fixed/variable cost analysis
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Help prepare annual operating plan and re-forecasts
  • Prepare and manage plant product costing, ensuring standard costs properly reflect operations
  • Inventory management including reconciliation, control, analysis, and oversee cycle counts and physical inventories
  • Plant Financial report development for plant management
  • Systems (JDE) support / plant development / implementation
  • Business partner with Plant Manager and site team
  • Provide government statistics as required
  • Complete month end financial submission (FCCS) for the UK entity
  • Assist with special projects
  • Support plant operations group while searching for cost and process improvement opportunities
