Requirements

  • Medical Doctor (MD) - Licensed by Board of Medicine and qualified to practice medicine in the state of service; board certified or board eligible upon hire
  • Or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) - Licensed by Board of Medicine and qualified to practice medicine in the state of service; board certified or board eligible upon hire
  • Federal Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) license (state and federal) based on state of practice upon hire
  • Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds
  • Ability to work primarily days with rotating weekends and holidays

Responsibilities

  • Assess, diagnose, and treat patients according to medical staff approved protocol and acceptable standards of practice
  • Provide medical services and health education to patients and family members; contribute to health education of individuals and groups to increase motivation for self-care
  • Perform necessary diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
  • Interpret information from diagnostic processes and formulate appropriate plans of care
  • Provide quality care, demonstrating appropriate health, safety, and aseptic practices
  • Recognize and react to environmental safety factors related to patient care; provide patient instruction on environment of care and safety standards
  • Understand, apply, and support practice policies, procedures, goals, and standards
  • Meet regularly with care team for consultation, collaboration, and quality care promotion; assure appropriate patient referrals
  • Maintain patient records and accurate information
