Position Overview

Dane Street is seeking Board Certified Internal Medicine physicians to conduct Independent Medical Exams (IME) and Peer Reviews. This role offers flexibility in scheduling and caseload management within a standard Monday-Friday work week, while adhering to client-mandated turnaround times. Cases will be assigned or scheduled based on your jurisdiction/area.

Requirements

• Board Certification in Internal Medicine.
• Physicians located in the Alsip/South Chicago Area.
• Maintain proper credentialing, state licenses, and any necessary special certifications or requirements.

Responsibilities

• Utilize clinical expertise to review disability claims.
• Provide interpretation of the medical appropriateness of services rendered by other healthcare professionals.
• Ensure compliance with state regulations, nationally recognized evidence-based guidelines, client-specific policies, and URAC guidelines.
• Review all medical records and address specific questions posed by the client.
• Utilize state-mandated or other nationally recognized evidence-based criteria to support determinations.
• Ensure the rationale for decisions is clear, concise, and adequately documented.
• Return cases on or before the due date and time.
• Attend all required orientation and training sessions.
• Identify, critique, and utilize current criteria and resources (e.g., national, state, professional association guidelines, peer-reviewed literature) for sound and objective decision-making.
• Provide copies of criteria utilized in a review with the report in a timely manner.
• Conduct Independent Medical Exams in a clean, safe, and professional manner and setting.
• Respond to quality assurance issues, complaints, regulatory issues, depositions, court appearances, or audits as assigned.
