Requirements

Candidates must possess a BSEE degree, with an MSEE preferred, and a minimum of eight years of experience in physical design specifically within SOCs. They should have at least three years of experience managing projects and leading teams, along with expertise in floorplanning, power planning, UPF methodology, logic and clock tree synthesis, placement, timing closure, routing, extraction, physical verification (DRC and LVS), crosstalk analysis, and EM/IR. Strong proficiency in TCL/Perl/Python programming and experience with double patterning process nodes are required, as is familiarity with SCAN, BIST, and ATPG. Expertise in Cadence or Synopsys RTL-to-GDSII flow is also preferred, and experience with sub-40nm nodes is necessary.

Responsibilities

The Physical Design Lead/Manager will own and drive the physical implementation of next-generation Mixed-Signal SOCs, collaborating with architecture, design, front end, and CAD teams to deliver high-quality physical designs. They will understand requirements, define implementation methodologies, implement and verify designs at all levels of hierarchy, interact with foundries regarding technology and signoff, create FC Floor Plans and Layouts, set up EDA tools and develop scripts, develop the UPF methodology, implement the Power and Clock Grid, generate SDF files, perform DRC, ERC, LVS, SI, and crosstalk checks, conduct DFM checks, tape out the chip, manage and mentor the PD and custom layout team, and make necessary changes to custom layout and release GDS2 to the fabs.
