Responsibilities

Preparing lab orders for URL and IRL one day in advance
Reconciling lab errors
Maintaining knowledge of Quest products, specimen processing requirements, and serving as the point of contact for the Quest account
Identifying patients and their personal information by reviewing identity documents
Assessing patient needs, reviewing patient history, and determining reasons for drawing blood
Selecting gauge needles and preparing veins or fingers for blood drawing
Extracting blood from patients through venipuncture or fingersticks
Analyzing blood specimens using correct testing equipment when necessary
Preparing specimens for transportation, including labeling vials accurately and matching to patients
Supplying diagnostic notes to physicians, other healthcare professionals, and hospitals
Keeping and maintaining records of patient names, volume of blood drawn, and diagnostic findings
Cleaning, maintaining, and calibrating laboratory equipment used in drawing and testing blood specimens
Ordering laboratory supplies as needed
Reviewing insurance to ensure verification status (may support)
Checking patients in on arrival (may support)
Escorting patients to the exam room (may support)
Completing vitals (may support)
Setting communication in motion with Provider and in communication channel (may support)
Basic housekeeping to ensure communal areas are stocked, clean, and maintained (may support)
Reviewing patients' charts one day in advance to prep for visit (may support)
Running all controls (may support)
Autoclave maintenance (may support)
Surgical equipment sterilization (may support)
Setting up and chaperoning surgical procedures (may support)
Obtaining patient consents for procedures (may support)
Maintaining appropriate level of office supplies and medical forms at workstation (may support)
Reviewing clinic inbox in Tia MD (may support)
Supporting Provider with U.A CX, HCG, glucose testing (may support)
Executing ad-hoc projects through cross-functional collaboration, including research, product sourcing, G-Suite documentation of processes, miscellaneous errands, and facilitation of team meetings and training
