Requirements

  • Must comply with any state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing the practice of pharmacy, which includes but is not limited to age, education, and registration, licensing, and certification requirements according to the State’s Board of Pharmacy guidelines
  • Availability on some weekends and evenings
  • Complete a rigorous company training program once in role

Responsibilities

  • Support the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence, acting as the first point of contact to assist patients and customers for an exceptional experience
  • Assist the pharmacy team to ensure pharmacy operations run smoothly, prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately, and provide caring service exceeding patient expectations
  • Follow all company SOPs at each workstation to help Pharmacists manage and improve patient health
  • Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each pharmacy workstation (e.g., production, pick-up, drive-thru, drop-off) for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment
  • Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care: create heartfelt and personalized moments while serving patients at pick-up, drive-thru, and over the phone; offer immunizations and other services at the register and over the phone; solve or escalate patient problems
  • Complete basic inventory activities as permitted by law and directed by pharmacy leadership, such as putting away medication deliveries, completing cycle counts, returns-to-stocks, waiting bin inventories
  • Contribute to a high-performing team by embracing a growth mindset, being receptive to feedback, and actively seeking opportunities to expand clinical and technical knowledge
  • Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs, including voluntarily traveling to stores in the market to work shifts as needed
  • Understand and comply with all relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, ethical principles, CVS policies, and procedures to ensure patient safety, compliance with controlled substance dispensing and recordkeeping, and protect patient privacy and security
  • Deliver additional patient health care services (e.g., immunizations, point-of-care testing, staffing offsite clinics) where allowable by law and supported by required training and certification
  • Demonstrate genuine care and contribute to a safe and inclusive culture where all people feel valued and empowered through consistent application of SOPs, best practices, and effective communication
