  • Age - 16 or older
  • License - Pharmacist License (secondary optional permit in Alberta: CA_APA - Additional Prescribing Authorization)

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Pharmacy and OTC teams, including participation in recruitment and interviewing of candidates
  • Train all associates on OBWs/SOPs and Walmart workflow and ensure their execution
  • Develop, assess, motivate, and retain team members
  • Promote Walmart's brand to team members and customers
  • Develop functional and collaborative relationships with the Prof Services District Manager, Store Management team, Store Manager, and other health care providers (clinics, Vision Centre, community etc.)
  • Operate Pharmacy to achieve established plans and budgets
  • Efficiently schedule associates according to business needs, conduct ongoing associate assessments and periodic performance reviews
  • Develop and execute business action plans to meet corporate goals and corrective action plans based on deficiencies (P&L, FSA visits, POAs, audits, DM visits)
  • Maintain accurate inventories by following Walmart OBWs/SOPs (receiving, inventory management, disposal of expired products)
  • Address all customer complaints and resolve problems to ensure excellent customer experience
  • Maintain regular care of the Pharmacy for proper appearance, hospital clean environment, and professional image per Workstation Standardization and 6S Audit
  • Cascade communication from SSC to all Pharmacy and OTC associates
  • Execute all programs assigned by the Prof Services team
  • Supervise and support the OTC manager in their everyday duties
  • Ensure excellent patient experience, including locating merchandise on the sales floor
  • Accept prescriptions and/or refill requests from customers, doctors, or hospitals
  • Fill all prescriptions accurately, efficiently, and safely using established workflow models and counsel patients on pharmaceutical products
  • Ensure proper storage of pharmaceutical products
  • Execute processes as per OBWs/SOPs
  • Operate all pharmacy equipment (register, computer system etc.)
  • Protect and maintain patient privacy at all times and follow provincial regulations by the regulatory body
  • Ensure patients receive all eligible services (medication reviews, injections etc.) to meet specific needs
  • Ensure Pharmacy is open and operational during posted business hours
  • Operate Pharmacy according to Walmart policy, professional standards, and provincial/federal regulations
