Requirements

Act as a role model demonstrating genuine care and setting standards for the pharmacy team
Lead and develop a pharmacy team providing exceptional patient care
Promote best practices and lead through change while identifying and addressing performance opportunities
Support novel program awareness and onboard newly hired pharmacy team members
Recognize colleagues for their success
Exhibit best practices when working the bench, including quarterbacking the team, providing meaningful patient counseling, and abiding by legal and regulatory guidelines
Oversee Staff Pharmacists and District Support Pharmacists (where applicable)
Ensure pharmacy operations are fully compliant with state Board of Pharmacy regulations
Partner with the Store Manager to maintain a healthy talent pipeline of cross-trained colleagues

Responsibilities

Help manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices
Oversee the pharmacy team during bench shifts, strengthening performance measures through effective coaching and consistent follow-up
Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following and directing the team to follow pharmacy workflow procedures and safety guardrails
Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy, genuine care, collaborating with healthcare teams, and proactively resolving insurance/medication issues; coach the team to do the same
Proactively offer and deliver immunizations; identify, engage, and support Pharmacy Technicians to learn to immunize
Manage pharmacy inventory by following and coaching the team on best practices, with focus on protecting cold chain products
Conduct new Technician and Pharmacist onboarding for the store and district, including CVS workflow training, ensuring timely completion of required training/licensure
Escalate issues or concerns to the Rx DL for additional support as needed
Manage performance of pharmacy team through direct observation, peer/team feedback, validation of results, annual performance reviews, and closing gaps
