Requirements

Graduate Pharmacy Intern (recent pharmacy school graduate, within 120 days of graduation)
Ability to apply didactic learning from pharmacy school to real-world pharmacy practice
Work under direction of preceptor and District Leader to complete comprehensive training roadmap
Compliance with state regulations (e.g., for taking telephonic prescriptions, calling prescribers)
Part-time availability in retail pharmacy locations

Responsibilities

Assist pharmacy team in ensuring smooth operations, prompt, safe, and accurate prescription fulfillment
Follow all company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) at each workstation (production, pick-up, drive-thru, drop-off)
Demonstrate empathy, genuine care, and compassionate service in all patient and colleague interactions to create positive experiences
Offer counseling, field medical questions, solicit patient medical history, and provide optimal care under direct supervision of licensed pharmacist
Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and call to clarify or facilitate changes, where allowed by state regulation
Maintain patient safety, error prevention, quality assurance, drug utilization review (DUR), corresponding responsibility, and red flag detection
Support pharmacy workflow procedures for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment
Offer immunizations and other services at register and over the phone to keep patients healthy
Solve or escalate patient problems compassionately
Provide in-the-moment coaching, training, mentoring to pharmacy team members and share best practices
Complete basic inventory activities (e.g., putting away deliveries, cycle counts, returns-to-stock, waiting bin inventories) as permitted by law and directed by leadership
Contribute to a high-performing team, safe and inclusive culture, and continuous improvement in store, district, and regional operations
