Requirements

  • 3rd year Pharmacy Intern (enrolled in or completing 3rd year of pharmacy school)
  • Ability to apply didactic learning from pharmacy school into real-world practice
  • Completion of a comprehensive training roadmap, including Key Learning Experiences (KLEs), activities, and time with district leaders
  • Compliance with state regulations (e.g., for taking telephonic prescriptions or calling prescribers)

Responsibilities

  • Follow all company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) at each workstation to support Pharmacists and Technicians in managing and improving patient health
  • Adhere to pharmacy workflow procedures at workstations (production, pick-up, drive-thru, drop-off) for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment
  • Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care, creating personalized moments at pick-up, drive-thru, phone, register; offer immunizations and services; solve or escalate patient problems
  • Offer counseling, field medical questions, and solicit patient medical history under direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist
  • Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and call prescribers to clarify prescriptions or facilitate changes, where allowed by state regulation
  • Provide in-the-moment coaching, training, mentoring to pharmacy team members, sharing best practices, and maintaining high self-awareness
  • Complete basic inventory activities as permitted by law and directed by pharmacy leadership (e.g., putting away medication deliveries, cycle counts, returns-to-stock, waiting bin inventories)
  • Assist pharmacy team to ensure smooth operations, prompt/safe/accurate prescription filling, and caring service exceeding patient expectations
  • Demonstrate empathy, genuine care, and contribute to a safe, inclusive culture in all interactions
