Requirements

3rd year Pharmacy Intern (enrolled in pharmacy school)
Ability to apply didactic learning from pharmacy school into real-world practice
Completion of a comprehensive training roadmap, including Key Learning Experiences (KLEs), activities, and time with district leaders
Adherence to all company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) at each workstation
Effective communication, empathy, and genuine care in all customer and colleague interactions
Compliance with state regulations (e.g., for taking telephonic prescriptions or clarifying with prescribers)
Increasing responsibility with tenure in ensuring safety and effectiveness of pharmacy operations

Responsibilities

Assist the pharmacy team to ensure smooth operations, prompt, safe, and accurate prescription fulfillment, and caring service exceeding patient expectations
Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at workstations (production, pick-up, drive-thru, drop-off)
Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy, creating personalized moments, offering immunizations/services, and solving/escalating patient problems
Offer counseling, field medical questions, and solicit medical history under direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist
Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and call to clarify or facilitate changes, where allowed by state regulation
Provide in-the-moment coaching, training, mentoring to team members, and share best practices
Complete basic inventory activities (e.g., putting away deliveries, cycle counts, returns-to-stock, waiting bin inventories) as permitted by law and directed by leadership
