Requirements

  • 3rd year Pharmacy Intern (enrolled in pharmacy school)
  • Ability to apply didactic learning from pharmacy school into real-world practice
  • Work under the direction of a preceptor
  • Complete a comprehensive training roadmap including Key Learning Experiences (KLEs), activities, and time with district leaders
  • Follow all company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Demonstrate empathy, genuine care, and effective communication in customer and colleague interactions
  • Activities permitted by state regulation and law (e.g., taking telephonic prescriptions, calling prescribers)

Responsibilities

  • Assist pharmacy team to ensure smooth operations, prompt, safe, and accurate prescription fulfillment, and caring service exceeding patient expectations
  • Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at workstations (production, pick-up, drive-thru, drop-off)
  • Contribute to positive patient experiences: create heartfelt moments at pick-up/drive-thru/phone, offer immunizations/services at register/phone, solve/escalate patient problems with compassion
  • Offer counseling, field medical questions, solicit medical history under direct supervision of licensed pharmacist
  • Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and call to clarify or facilitate changes, where allowed by state regulation
  • Provide in-the-moment coaching, training, mentoring to team members and share best practices
  • Complete basic inventory activities (e.g., put away deliveries, cycle counts, returns-to-stock, waiting bin inventories) as directed
  • Live company purpose by following SOPs to help manage and improve patient health
  • Contribute to a safe, inclusive culture where all feel valued and empowered
  • Take on increasing responsibility for safety and effectiveness of pharmacy operations with tenure
