Requirements

Pharmacist license - Board of Pharmacy active in state of practice (within 30 Days)
Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
Ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds
Ability to work the hours specified (PRN, Day Shift, Part time)

Responsibilities

Perform and evaluate functions related to pharmacy services, such as preparing and dispensing medications
Collect data, report adverse drug reactions, conduct drug utilization evaluations, perform quality assurance audits, and manage inventory control for safe medication management
Interpret, process, and monitor medication orders for contraindications, interactions, allergies, and appropriateness to ensure safe, quality care
Monitor medication therapy by analyzing patient medication regimens, medical problems, laboratory data, and special procedures, correlating with other clinicians for continuum of care
Provide medication information to providers and other healthcare individuals in a timely manner
Counsel patients on proper usage, desired effects, and potential adverse effects of medications to ensure understanding and satisfaction
Mentor students, interns, technicians, and others in career plans and professional development to support excellence in patient care
Coordinate and oversee workflow with team members, including pharmacists, residents, technicians, and students, for a productive environment
Maintain working knowledge of professional standards, regulatory policies, federal/state laws, and organization procedures to ensure compliance
Recognize and communicate issues/occurrences via established lines of authority and assist in resolving variances or unacceptable outcomes
Oversee activities of pharmacy technical staff and interns
Collaborate with medical staff to manage patient treatments and ensure compliance with policies and regulations
Participate in committee involvement, teaching, clinical research, and continuing education
