Requirements

  • Must be within commutable distance of SEO’s offices at 55 Exchange Place, New York, NY 10005, upon hire
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment (3 days/week in office)
  • Strong understanding of HR policies, including the SEO Employee Handbook, for coaching, guiding, and ensuring compliance
  • Expertise in end-to-end talent management components (e.g., HR policies, organizational development, performance management, employee relations, workforce planning, onboarding & offboarding, talent acquisition)
  • Experience facilitating and mediating difficult conversations, conducting ER investigations, and making recommendations
  • Knowledge of ADA workplace accommodations processes
  • Ability to partner with leaders on performance management review cycles, coaching managers, and developing learning content
  • Skills in supporting recruitment, selection processes (e.g., interviews), onboarding, and retention strategies
  • Capability to communicate initiatives, manage change, respond to engagement indicators, and develop action plans
  • Experience supporting employee recognition, milestones, Employee Resource Groups, and events

Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary point of contact for Employee Relations (ER) concerns, facilitating and mediating difficult conversations
  • Conduct ER investigations and make recommendations based on findings
  • Escalate ER issues to Director of Talent Management for collaboration with legal counsel
  • Coach, guide, and support staff on SEO Employee Handbook and policies, holding team members accountable
  • Manage ADA workplace accommodations requests
  • Partner with leaders and managers to facilitate performance management review cycles and milestones
  • Coach managers through performance issues and team development
  • Liaise between managers and People & Culture team to develop and deliver learning content
  • Support Talent Acquisition team in attracting and retaining top talent, including selection processes and onboarding
  • Develop retention strategies with Director of Talent Acquisition to minimize attrition in critical roles
  • Communicate People & Culture initiatives and assist in change management
  • Respond to employee engagement indicators, collaborate on action plans with leadership
  • Support employee recognition, milestones, and accolades for Scholars Programs
  • Support Employee Resource Groups as business partner for events, programming, and engagement
  • Collaborate with Total Rewards team to support compensation and benefits
