Payroll Specialist Lead

Position Overview

Remote is seeking a Payroll Specialist Lead to join our Global Payroll Operations Team. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact in the global employment space by managing and processing payroll in-house, ensuring statutory filing requirements, handling exceptions, approvals, payments, and compliance. You will act as a subject matter expert for your designated country, manage stakeholder relationships, and focus on data integrity and quality.

What you bring

  • Payroll management or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of payroll best practices.
  • Proficiency in software tools such as SAP, Excel, or Google Sheets.
  • An analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, international work environment with a passion for making an impact.
  • A proactive approach to productivity and a drive for continuous improvement.
  • Understanding of and ability to work largely asynchronously.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.
  • Experience working remotely is considered a plus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a subject matter expert for the assigned country.
  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders in Payroll Implementation, Finance, Product, and Engineering.
  • Process full end-to-end payroll in-house, including statutory filing, exception handling, approvals, payments, and compliance.
  • Ensure full data integrity and quality.
  • Perform accounting and reconciliations.
  • Focus on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Implement and improve payroll processes.
  • Mentor and support other payroll specialists.
  • Provide backup support to regional managers during their absence.

  • Base Salary Range: $49,900 USD - $56,000 USD (for this full-time position)
