Candidates should have at least 2 years of payroll tax filing experience and a demonstrated working knowledge of U.S. local, state, and federal payroll tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements. Experience using QuickBooks or a similar accounting platform, advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, and familiarity with tax and payroll systems are required. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, excellent communication abilities, and the capacity to maintain confidentiality and meet strict deadlines are essential. Experience in the SaaS industry is preferred.
The Payroll Tax Specialist will ensure accurate and timely tax payments and filings for clients by researching, reconciling, preparing, and filing federal, state, and local tax returns. Responsibilities include generating and completing EFTPS Batch Processor payments, setting up and maintaining portal access for various jurisdictions, and maintaining client ID numbers, rates, and deposit frequencies. The role involves researching and resolving payroll tax issues, creating and filing amended returns, and identifying and resolving root cause discrepancies to recommend process improvements. The specialist will also create and reconcile journal entries for tax payments and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
