Candidates must possess a minimum of 4 years of experience in payroll, finance, or a related field, with strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations, tax laws, and labor laws. Proficiency in payroll systems such as Workday and Salesforce, advanced Excel skills for data analysis, excellent attention to detail for handling large datasets, and strong written and verbal communication skills are required. The ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment, work independently, and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, OneNote) are also essential qualifications.
The Payroll Analyst II is responsible for performing advanced analysis and processing of payroll for prevailing wage projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local wage laws. This includes reconciling payroll data, preparing and submitting complex certified payroll reports, and maintaining organized records for audits. The role involves overseeing data entry, collaborating with project managers and subcontractors, and providing expertise and support to the payroll team by resolving complex issues and answering inquiries. Additionally, the analyst will assist in implementing best practices, developing training materials on prevailing wage laws, generating and analyzing performance reports, and ensuring proper calculation and reporting of fringe benefits.
