Requirements

Candidates must possess at least 5 years of experience in a safety, labor compliance, or construction management role, with specific experience in public works contracts. A strong understanding of prevailing wage laws, apprenticeship requirements, and certified payroll processes is essential. The role requires an OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification or the ability to obtain one within 90 days, along with demonstrated skills in performing onsite inspections and managing field crews to compliance standards. Excellent communication and documentation abilities are also necessary.

Responsibilities

The Field Safety & Compliance Manager will develop and enforce safety protocols, manage public works compliance obligations, and ensure adherence to state and federal laws regarding prevailing wage, apprenticeship utilization, and certified payroll. Key duties include creating and implementing jobsite safety policies, conducting onsite safety inspections, investigating workplace incidents, verifying contractor compliance with wage rates and fringe benefits, submitting certified payroll reports, onboarding subcontractors, performing payroll spot checks, representing the company in agency audits, and maintaining detailed project records.
